Inhibited radiative decay enhances single-photon emitters

Spin–photon interfaces for quantum networks often rely on resonator enhanced emission, limiting scalability and requiring precise tuning. Here, the authors demonstrate an alternative approach that avoids these limitations by suppressing unwanted radiative decay channels of erbium dopants using silicon photonic crystal waveguides.
